Drew Drops Final Game of Fall Fest
Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (September 12, 2010) - The Rangers had their three-game winning streak halted by the Knights of Arcadia who improve to 4-2 on the season. Drew (3-2) out-shot the Knights 10-7 in the game including a 3-1 advantage in the second half.
In a rain-soaked afternoon, the games lone goal was scored by Arcadia's Ashley Knueppel in the 39th minute. Knights forward Sara Volk-Perez unleashed a shot from the 18 yard line and goalkeeper
Kim Jaikisson (Columbia, N.J./Columbia) made a terrific save to knock the ball away but Knueppel was there for the rebound and had an easy open net.
The soggy conditions seemed to take a toll as the game wore on as both teams combined for only four shots in the second half. Perhaps Drew's best opportunity of the day came in the 86th minute when
Emily Weida (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) had her shot from the top of the box go just wide.
The Rangers will hit the road next Saturday to take on DeSales University in a non-conference action. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 in Center Valley, Pa.
