MADISON, N.J. (October 9, 2011) –
Christine Meconi (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) scored three goals and assisted on two others to aid the Rangers in an 8-0 win over Goucher (5-5, 1-2 Landmark) this afternoon. Meconi's eight points was one point shy of the school record set by Danielle Baraty in 1992.
The senior forward wasted little time getting the Rangers on the scoreboard scoring her first goal just 1:56 into the contest off a pass from
Emily Weida (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day). Sophomore
Caroline Kuras (Allamuchy, N.J./Pope John XXIII) fed Meconi in the ninth minute to put the Rangers up 2-0. Kuras finished the day with three assists, etching her name into the Drew record books for the most assists ever in a game.
Drew (5-7, 2-1 Landmark) began to pour it on after sophomore
Katie O'Keefe (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) punched in her fifth goal of the season in the 18
th minute. The Rangers went on to score three more goals in the next 17 minutes to take a 6-0 lead into the half.
Abby Dingle (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen), Liz Loidice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) and
Cindy Hartmann (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) each recorded their first goals of the fall.
