Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (April 12, 2011) – After a downpour and a halftime weather delay the Rangers finally emerged victorious, defeating Ursinus 13-8 this evening in Ranger Stadium. Seniors Stacie Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./The Calverton School) and Cara Jeffries  (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) each had hat tricks in the 13-goal effort.

Drew (5-7) never trailed in the contest and wasted little time grabbing an early lead. Jeffries had the first of her three scores on the day just 1:34 into the game. The senior brought her season goal total up to 14 on the year, good for third-best on the team.

The Rangers built on the quick start scoring six of the game's first seven goals. The Bears closed the gap by rattling off three goals in a three-minute span to make the score 6-4 with eight minutes to play in the first half. Brown helped re-build the lead registering her hat trick before the sound of the halftime horn. Her goal with 4:16 left in half made the score 9-4 at the midway point.

The game would be delayed by more than 45 minutes at the break due to thunder and lightning in the Madison area. The heavy downfall and the extended half played a toll on both offenses in the final thirty minutes of play. Both teams combined for eight goals, four each, allowing the Rangers to hang on for their fifth win of the spring.

Brown complemented her three goals with two assists and won two draw controls for the Rangers. Becca Schild (Princeton, N.J./Princeton), Sloane Coles (The Plains, Va./Foxcroft) and Lindsay Fry (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Morristown Beard) had two goals apiece. Coles, won a team-high four draw controls. She ranked second in the Landmark with 33 draws, coming into tonight's game.

The Ranger defense held Ursinus leading scorer Alyssa Thren, who has found the back of the net 40 times this year, to no goals. Ranger goaltender, Rachel Hanley (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made 10 saves on the evening, two more than her counterpart, Riley Pembroke.

The Rangers will be home Saturday in their second Landmark Conference game of the season against Goucher. Before the game the Rangers will honor their nine seniors in their final Saturday regular season home game of their careers. Game time is set for 1:00 PM at Ranger Stadium.
