Rangers Continue Dominance Over FDU

MADISON, N.J. (April 19, 2011) – The Rangers won their 12th game in 13 tries all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson (9-5) with a 16-8 victory tonight in Ranger Stadium. Senior
Becca Schild (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) helped the Drew improve to 7-7 on the season with five points on the evening.
After taking a two-goal advantage at halftime, the Rangers used nine second half goals to pull away from their cross-street rivals. The Drew defense was just as strong allowing only 14 total shots and forced a total of 14 Devil turnovers.
Both Schild and classmate,
Cara Jeffries (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore), compiled five points apiece on the night to help lead the Ranger attack. Jeffries had one of her best all-around efforts of the season, netting her first hat trick of the year to go along with two assists and two ground balls. Schild scored all three of her goals in the second half and registered her fifth and sixth assists on the season.
Brook Connell (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) had a hand in three of Drew's first four goals, helping them jump out to a 5-1 lead. The Devils quickly closed the gap with four of the half's final six to make the score 7-5. Senior
Stacie Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md.) scored the final goal of the first half with just two ticks left on the clock.
The Rangers rode the momentum of the Brown goal into the second half of play. Drew rattled of six-straight goals in the final frame putting the game out of reach. Brown and
Aileen Musynske (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) each had a pair of goals in the win.
The Rangers will continue with their Landmark Conference schedule on Thursday night when they travel to Scranton. Game time is slated for 7:00 PM.
