Rangers Pick Up First Conference Win

MADISON, N.J, (April 2, 2011) - The Rangers swept doubles and won three singles matches to defeat Juniata, 6-3 this afternoon.
Sarit Ashkenazi (Haifa, Isreal/Immaculata Conception) collected her team-high fourth individual win of the season with an 6-0, 6-2 victory in number on singles.
Sofia Madrigal (San Jose, Coasta Rico/ Pan-American School) and
Chelsea Lipp (Old Lyme, Conn./Old Lyme) came from behind to register the first win of the day, 8-4 in the first doubles. Ashkenazi and
Christiane Thoma (Mexico, Colgio Americano de Pueblo) recorded their second win alongside one another with a convincing, 8-1 decision in the second spot. To complete the doubles sweep,
Cristine Conde (North Bergan, N.J./North Bergan) and
Yiyi Rodriguez (Providence, R.I./Central) were awarded third doubles by default.
Lipp would seal the victory for the Rangers in the number three singles with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Juniata's Perow. After today's match, Lipp remains undefeated in both singles and doubles with three victories a piece.
Women return to the court next weekend, when they travel south to Washington, D.C. for a conference match-up against Catholic on Saturday at 1:00 P.M.
