Rangers Top Cross-street Rivals in Thrilling Fashion

Box Score MADISON, N.J. (October 24, 2012) – Drew (8-7-2) scored three unanswered goals to shock cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson (6-12) by the score of 3-2 in double overtime. Freshman Emma Campbell (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) notched her 14th goal of the season for the game-winner in the 105th minute.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Drew marched all the way back scoring twice in the second half including the tying goal in regulation with just 1:55 remaining.  Freshman Mel Santos (Iselin, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) cut the Devil lead in half in the 75 minute off a pass from Katie O'Keefe (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) to make the score, 2-1. Santos has now scored in three of her last four games and has totaled eight points in her first season.

With time in favor of the home Devils, junior Liz Loidice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) scored her second goal of the year to tie the game at two with just 1:55 remaining on the clock. The two teams remained scoreless in the closing minute of regulation and through the first 10 minute overtime.

Campbell, the Landmark Conference's leading scorer, gave the Rangers their eighth win of the season with the game-winner with 5:10 remaining in the second overtime. Campbell is now tied for sixth place all-time for goals in a season with 14. She is second to only Meredith Doll's 17 goals in 1993 for the most goals as a freshman.

After being outshot by the Devils in the first half, 10-3, the Rangers came back and owned a 12-3 advantage in the final three periods. Senior goalkeeper Kim Jaikissoon (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) saved nine shots to earn her eighth win of the season.

The Rangers will need a win on Saturday against Catholic or a Juniata loss to Scranton to clinch a spot in the Landmark Conference postseason. Prior to the 1:00 p.m. start, the Rangers will honor their six seniors in their final regular season game in Ranger Stadium.
