MADISON, N.J. (March 24, 2012) – The Rangers took the IWLCA # 13 team in the country, Stevens (4-2), to overtime but eventually fell in extra time, 14-12. The loss snaps a four-game winning streak by the Rangers and moves them to 4-4 on the season.

Lindsay Rossi (Pennington, N.J./Pennington School ) and
Lindsay Fry (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Morristown Beard) each had a hat tricks to lead the Rangers offense. Classmate
Aileen Musynske (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) scored a goal and tied career-high with four assists on the afternoon.
The Rangers had as much as a three-goal lead against the Ducks in the contest after three-straight goals late in the first half. With Stevens trailing 7-4 with 2:25 remaining in the half, the Ducks rattled off three-consecutive goals in over the final 1:15 of play. They tied game at seven with just 13 seconds left on a goal by Michelle Buonacuore.
After 14 goals in the first half, both defenses tightened up allowing just four goals apiece over the final 30 minutes of play. Sophomore
Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made 10 saves in cage for the Rangers while her counterpart, Meg Collins made five stops.
The Ducks claimed their second lead of the second half on two-straight goals by Joey Galligan and Spencer Waybright to take a 11-10 lead with 9:30 to play. Junior
Devon Affleck (Abington, Pa./Abington) registered the equalizer with 2:25 remaining on a free position shot to force overtime.
Stevens would take control of the six total minutes of overtime, with a pair of goals by Kara Rafferty, ultimately outscoring the Rangers 3-1 in extra time.
The Rangers look to bounce back on Wednesday when they take on cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday evening.
