Rangers Fend Off Devils, Take Madison Ave.

MADISON, N.J. (March 28, 2012) – Drew (5-4) took a two-goal lead midway through the second half and was able to hang on, 11-10 for its fifth-straight win over Fairleigh Dickinson (3-5) this evening. Sophomore goalie Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made 10 saves to earn win number five on the year.

Senior Lyndsay Rossi (Pennington, N.J./Pennington School), Devon Affleck (Abington, Pa./Abington) and Yasmin Baldini (Milton, Mass./Milton) each had two goals to pace the Rangers offense. Drew's leader in points, Aileen Musynske (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial), scored once and dished off three assists in the win.

Baldini scored the Rangers 11th goal of the night on a free position shot with 10:44 remaining in the game. The Devils managed to pull within a goal on Breana Kilpatrick's third goal of the game with 8:58 left. The Rangers defense and Carlini took over from there, allowing only three more shots for the remainder of the contest.

The Rangers outscored the Devils 5-3 in the second half after going into halftime trailing, 7-6.

Drew will open up Landmark Conference play this weekend when they travel down to Catholic University for a rematch of last year's championship game. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
