MADISON, N.J. (April 7, 2012) – Rowan (5-6) senior Michelle Lubrano drove straight to the net after a successful clear and scored the game-winning goal with three seconds left to defeat Drew, 14-13 in Ranger Stadium this afternoon. For the Rangers, it marks their third-straight loss as they fall to 5-7 on the season.
Senior
Lyndsay Rossi (Pennington, N.J./Pennington School) tallied six points in the contest, scoring four goals and registering two assists. Classmate
Aileen Musynske (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park) found the back of the net three times for her sixth hat trick of the season.
Lubrano created defensive nightmares for the Rangers all afternoon, scoring a game-high seven goals, the most allowed to an opposing player this season. Freshman Becca Wood accounted for three goals to pace the Rowan attack.
The two teams exchanged goal-for-goal for 60 minutes with neither team holding more than a two goal advantage. The Rangers trailed 13-11 with 11:04 remaining in the game and tied it up with goals from Musynske and Rossi late in the half.
Senior
Lindsay Fry (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Morristown Beard) had a tremendous day off the draw, collecting 10 draw controls. She also accounted for four of the 20 Ranger ground balls and caused one turnover in the game.
Prof goaltender Kerry Pehnke came in to play the final 30 minutes of the game and made a game-high nine saves. Sophomore Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made eight stops on the afternoon and also scooped up four ground balls around the cage.
The Rangers will return to their Landmark Conference schedule next Saturday when they travel to Towson, Md. for matchup with Goucher at 1:00 p.m.
