Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. (September 22, 2012) – Despite six goals between Drew (3-3-1) and Susquehanna (3-3-1) a winner could not be determined after 120 minutes of soccer this afternoon. Susquehanna tied the game up at three with 2:13 left in regulation.
The two teams combined for four goals in the first half with each team holding a lead. The Crusaders struck first, scoring just 2:07 into the game on a goal from Marissa DeParto. The Rangers then tied the game up in the 12
th minute on the seventh goal of the season by freshman
Emma Campbell (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill).
Drew captured its first lead of the afternoon a little less than five minutes later on an unassisted goal from
Michelle Malone (Rochelle Park, N.J./Paramus Catholic). The senior hit a ball from just outside the 18 and found the upper corner for her second goal of the year.
Susquehanna finished off the back and forth first half with a goal by Alexandra Mason in the 25
th minute off Kelly Bassett's second assist of the day. The Rangers held an 8-4 shot advantage over the first 35 minutes.
In the second half, sophomore
Katie O'Keefe (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) scored what looked to be the game-winner in the 69
th minute and gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead.
Drew, who lost in the closing minutes to Manhattanville on Wednesday, fell victim to a late goal once again today. Susquehanna's Angela Amato took a direct shot from 25 yards out that found the upper corner of the net to tie the game up at three with just 2:13 left in regulation.
Only four shots were taken in the two overtime frames, with three coming off the feet of Rangers. Senior
Kim Jaikissoon (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) made two saves, playing all 120 minutes in front of the net for Drew.
The Rangers will be back at home on Wednesday night to take on Stevens. The two teams are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. matchup in Ranger Stadium.
