Box Score MADISON, N.J. (October 16, 2013)-- The Drew women's soccer team (11-1) defeated SUNY New Paltz (2-10-3), 2-1 in a double overtime thriller this evening at Ranger Stadium. Senior
Liz Loiodice (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) scored the game-winning goal in the 118
th minute.
The first half of the match was played fairly even as both teams put two shots on net. The Rangers and Hawks played the first half to a 0-0 tie.
Drew picked up tempo in the second half firing right out of the gate. The Rangers took five shots in the first five minutes of the second half. In the 68
th minute of the match a corner taken by Loiodice was headed into the net by sophomore midfielder
Mel Santos (Iselin, N.J./John F. Kennedy Memorial) giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. The goal was Santos' fourth of the season.
Less than three minutes later the Hawks responded with a goal of their own coming from the foot of Eleni Anselmi who beat the goalkeeper to the bottom right corner of the goal. The two teams ended the second half tied 1-1.
The Rangers dominated the overtime periods controlling possession and testing the Hawks goalkeeper. With two minutes left in the match sophomore
Emma Campbell (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) collected a loose ball out in the middle of the field and found the wide open Loiodice who fired a shot from 25 yards out and snuck it just under the crossbar. The goal is Loiodice's team leading 10
th of the season.

Agata Dera (Wallington, N.J./Wallington) got her fourth start of the season in net for the Rangers making two saves. Sophomore
Sara Nash (Kingston, Wash./Kingston) played the second half of the game making one save and collecting her sixth win of the season.
The Rangers look to pick up their fourth conference victory on Saturday afternoon in the opening match of a soccer doubleheader at Ranger Stadium as they take on conference-foe Goucher College at 1 p.m. Drew has never lost to Goucher holding the series advantage 7-0-1.
