Dominate First Half Lifts #11 Susquehanna Over Rangers

Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. (March 29, 2013) – The 11th-Ranked Susquehanna Crusaders (10-0, 1-0 Landmark) cruised to a 14-4 victory over the Drew women's lacrosse team this afternoon. The Rangers drop to 4-5 on the season and 0-1 in Landmark Conference play.

The nationally ranked Crusaders were unstoppable in the first half of play, scoring on 10 of their 25 shots. Susquehanna went on to score the first 11 goals of the game and owned a 10-0 advantage at the half.

The balanced scoring attack of Susquehanna was led by Annie McElaney who netted five goals and scooped up three ground balls. Michelle McGinniss was a big part of the Crusader 15-5 lopsided advantage on the draw. She scooped up a game-high 10 draw controls and also recorded a hat trick.

The Rangers first goal of the game came 6:59 into the second half when Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) converted a Devon Affleck (Abington, Pa./Abington) pass to make the score 11-1. Cento and classmate Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) each had two goals, all in the second half to pace the Drew attack. Affleck assisted on two of the Rangers four scores on the day.

Susquehanna unleashed 40 shots on the Rangers defense, a season-high for an opponent. Drew goalkeeper CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made 15 saves and played all 60 minutes in cage for the Rangers.

The Rangers will continue Landmark Conference play on Saturday April 6th against five-time champion Catholic University at home. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Ranger Stadium.
