Cento Ties Assists Record as Rangers Roll Past USMMA

Box Score MADISON, N.J. (April 17, 2013) – The Drew women's lacrosse team was dominant in a 15-3 victory over Merchant Marine (0-9) this afternoon at Ranger Stadium. The Rangers improve their overall record to 6-8 on the season.

Sophomore Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) put together a monster game, tying the school record with six assists in the contest and notching a career-high 12 ground balls. She also scored a goal and collected nine draw controls. It marks the second time this season she has assisted on five or more goals.

The Rangers got off to a hot start, scoring the game's first seven goals. Cento recorded five of her assists before the half as the Rangers took a 12-2 lead into the halftime break.

Five Rangers scored multiple times in the contest. CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) saw her first action in the field, scoring on both her shot attempts. Aubrey Chow (Waterford, N.Y./Albany Academy), Christina Rock (New York, N.Y./Oldfields(Md.)) and Samantha Algieri (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) each netted their first career goals in the game.

Sophomore Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored twice and assisted on three others. She also was able to win three draw controls and pick up a pair of ground balls. Her 68 goals on the season ties her for the 6th most in a season by a Drew women's lacrosse player. Her 86 points move her into 10th place all-time on Drew's season list.

Carlini played the first 30 minutes of the game in net and made three saves to earn the win.

Kristen Bell netted two of the three goals for the Mariners while Alexandra Winfree notched her 13th goal of the season.
The Rangers will honor their seniors prior to Saturday's home finale against Goucher. Drew will also clinch a Landmark Conference playoff berth with a win.
