Box Score MADISON, N.J (April 20, 2013) – The Drew University women's lacrosse team punched its ticket into the Landmark Conference postseason for the sixth-straight season with a 15-10 victory over Goucher (7-8, 0-3 Landmark) this afternoon at Ranger Stadium. The Rangers honored their graduating seniors,
Devon Affleck (Abington, Pa./Abington),
Aubrey Chow (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) and
CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) prior the contest.
Sophomore
Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored seven times in the contest and now has 75 goals in the season which is the second most ever by a Drew women's lacrosse player. The second-year attacker also recorded two assists and had a game-high six draw controls. Classmate
Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) also etched her name in the Drew record books after scoring three goals and assisting on three others. Her 33 assists on the season are the 8
th-most ever in school history.
The Rangers trailed only once and got the scoring going just eight seconds into the game. Junior
Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Twp.) picked up the opening draw control and sprinted to the cage to record her 20
th goal of the season. The Gophers took their only lead of the game by scoring the next two goals.
After exchanging goals midway through the first, the Rangers went on a tear by scoring the final four goals of the half to open up a 8-4 lead. The Rangers picked up where they left off at start the second rattling off five-straight goals to complete a nine-goal run between the two periods.
Despite scoring the six of the game's final eight goals, the Gophers dug themselves in too deep of a hole. The 10 Goucher goals were divided up into three players, with Hannah Khin leading the way with four. Erin Reifsnyder and Anneke Ossorio each tallied a hat trick of Gophers.
Playing in her final conference home game, Carlini and the Rangers defense were brilliant. The sophomore made 11 saves to help the Rangers to their sixth-straight win over Goucher. Affleck had herself a senior day to remember, netting four goals and an assist. She won four draw controls and converted her only free-position attempt of the game.
The Rangers will conclude their home schedule on Tuesday when they welcome Gwynedd Mercy to Madison. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m. in Madison.
