Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 25, 2014) – The Drew University women's soccer team fell to 2-3 in the Landmark Conference with two games to play after a 5-0 setback at Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Jays (12-3, 5-1 Landmark Conference) took a commanding lead with a flurry of goals in the first half. Elizabethtown took control of the game with its opening goal in the 14
th minute and building the lead to 4-0 within the next 15 minutes of the opening half.
Freshman
Katie Weber took Drew's lone shot on goal to open the second half in the 47
th minute, but the Elizabethtown goalkeeper was there to make the save. Dana Robidoux and Hailey Parks split the shutout in net for the Blue Jays.
After Weber's shot, Elizabethtown transitioned on the attack and netted its fifth goal of the contest. The Blue Jays outshot the Rangers 22-4.
The Rangers will be faced with important Landmark Conference contests during the final week of the regular season. Drew visits The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference Championship rematch from one year ago on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m. The regular season finale falls on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. when Moravian College comes to Ranger Stadium.
