Box Score Patchogue, N.Y. (March 11, 2014) – The Drew University women's lacrosse team (1-2) picked up their first win of the season this afternoon, 18-3 over SUNY-Old Westbury in Patchogue, N.Y. The Rangers scored a season high 18 goals in the game.
Freshman
Anna Fiorini (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) scored a career-high five goals in the first half of the victory. Fiorini was a perfect 100 percent as she was 5-for-5 on the day.
Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) scored three goals for the Rangers. The junior midfielder added two assists and scooped up five groundballs for Drew in the win.
Drew got on the board first scoring just 27 seconds into the game, when senior
Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold) found the back of the net. The Panthers struck back just one minute later tying the game, 1-1 with 28:34. With 24:14 Fiorini scored her first goal of the game off an assist from junior
Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford). Just two minutes later freshman
Charlotte Brown (Rumford, R.I./St. Mary Academy Bay View) scored her first of the day, giving the Rangers a, 3-1 advantage with 22:50 left in the half. SUNY-Old Westbury scored a goal at the 19:38 mark cutting the Ranger lead to just one, 3-2. The Rangers closed the half scoring final eight goals taking an, 11-2 lead into the break.
Cento scored her second of the day just 24 seconds into the start of the second half. Drew scored the next six goals of the game including one from freshman
Theresa Shafron (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) who scored her first career at the 10:41 mark of the second half. Freshman
Morgan Mason (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) netted one goal in the first half and two in the second to register her first career hat-trick.

Gianna Minogue (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) made her second start of the season for the Rangers in goal this afternoon. The Long Island native played all 60 minutes for the Rangers allowing three goals and making three saves.
The Rangers take the field tomorrow afternoon, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. as they play the first game of the season in Ranger Stadium against Centenary in a non-conference contest.
