Kleiman's Nine Points Helps Rangers Soar Over Blue Jays

Box Score Elizabethtown, Pa. (April 5, 2014) – The Drew University women's lacrosse team picked up its third Landmark Conference victory this afternoon with a 14-1 win over Elizabethtown. Today's contest marked the first meeting between the two schools since 2011.

Nikki Kleiman (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored a season-high nine points this afternoon. The junior midfielder had four goals on five shots and dished out five assists for the blue and green in the victory. Freshman Morgan Mason (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) scored a new career-high five points for the Rangers. Mason scored three goals and added two assists on the afternoon.

Elizabethtown scored their first and only goal of the game just 40 seconds. Dana Robidoux found a cutting Addie Stang for her 14th goal of the season. The Rangers responded just 20 seconds later when Kleiman scored her first of the game off a feed from Mason. Junior midfielder Krysta Cento (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) scored her first of the day at the 25:38 mark of the first half, putting the Rangers up 4-1. Cento finished the day with two goals and one assist. Senior Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Twp.) scored her seventh goal of the season following a Mason's second of the game to put Drew out in front 7-1. Cento, Kleiman and Mason would each score one more in the final 19 minutes of the first, giving the Rangers a 10-1 lead heading into halftime.

Drew continued the scoring in the second half at the 26:12 mark when Gagliano found a wide open Anna Fiorini (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) for her 10th goal of the season. Gagliano scored her second of the day just two minutes later putting the Rangers up 12-1 with 23:26 left in the game. Senior midfielder Jess Johnson (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Senior) scored the final two goals of the game for the Rangers bringing her season tally to 11.

Freshman Jadin James (Farmington, Conn./Farmington) made her fifth start of the season in between the pipes for the Rangers on the afternoon. James allowed one goal and made one save on the afternoon. Freshman Gianna Minogue (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) played the second half in goal for Drew.

The Rangers return to action on Thursday April 10, as they play host to Ramapo in a non-conference match here at Ranger Stadium. Draw is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
