After the Gophers (8-8, 1-2 Landmark) swept doubles action, junior
Deanna Williams got the Rangers (1-4, 1-3 Landmark) on the board with a victory at No. 2 singles. Williams won the first set 6-4 before falling 7-5 in the second. The Drew junior outlasted Goucher's Alex Walsh in the third-set tiebreaker by a score of 10-4.
Freshman
Jessica Cheng followed with a dominating performance at third singles with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory over Kelsey Turner of Goucher.
On the doubles courts, Williams and junior
Alexandra Scarborough battled their Goucher opponents in second doubles. Goucher's Kirsten Cianci and Kelsey Turner prevailed in a close match, 8-6.
Senior
Leslie Monroy and sophomore
Kirby Clark also took the Gophers to the brink in third doubles competition before falling to Hanora Barron and Emily Ruff, 8-6 as Goucher swept all three doubles matches.
The Drew women return to action on Thursday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m. when the Rangers host the Battle of Madison Ave. with the FDU-Florham Devils.
