Box ScoreMADISON, N.J. (March 1, 2015) – The Drew University women's tennis team won the 2015 Battle of Madison Avenue, 9-0, over cross-street rival FDU-Florham on Sunday afternoon in the Simon Forum.
Playing in its first spring dual match, the clean sweep of the archrival Devils (1-3) boosted the Rangers' 2014-15 record to 3-1. Drew has now won three straight in the rivalry series.
The Rangers' doubles squads set the tone for the day with a near-perfect performance on the indoor courts in the Simon Forum. Junior
Katie Marshall and sophomore
Jessica Cheng won at first doubles, 8-0, in their first ever pairing together. Senior

Megan Jarvis teamed up for an 8-1 victory at second doubles, and the third doubles team of senior
Deanna Williams and junior
Kirby Clark completed the sweep with an 8-0 decision at third doubles.
Marshall turned in the first singles result on Sunday with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 2 position and improved to 2-2 in second singles dual matches this season. Cheng followed shortly after to give Drew its fifth point and make the win over its rival official. Cheng won 6-1, 6-1 and improved to 3-1 on the season in singles while dropping just five games in those three victories.
Williams outlasted the Devils' No. 1 singles player 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) in the first of two 3-setters that the Rangers would claim on Sunday. Jarvis was the other at fifth singles, surviving 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3).
Scarborough and Clark put a bow on the sweep with singles victories at the fourth and sixth positions, respectively.
The Rangers break from competition until Saturday, March 28 when 2015 Landmark Conference play begins at Goucher College.
