Box ScoreHUNTINGDON, Pa. (May 10, 2015) – The Drew University women's tennis team concluded the 2014-15 season with a runner-up finish in the first-ever ECAC Division III Outdoor Tennis Championships after a 5-0 loss to top seed and host Juniata College in the finals match on Sunday afternoon.
The second-seeded Rangers (7-9) earned the right to face the familiar foe in the Eagles, a fellow member of the Landmark Conference, by defeated No. 3 Misericordia University, 5-1, in the semifinals on Saturday.
After a close doubles competition in Saturday's semifinals, Drew was again locked in a doubles battle at Juniata to start off the finals match. Both first and second doubles came right down to the end, but Juniata edged both decisions to sweep doubles and take the 3-0 into singles play, where they would need just two victories to seal up the first-ever ECAC Outdoor Championship.

Jessica Cheng went into overtime at No. 1 doubles, but were outlasted 9-7 at the top spot. Senior

Megan Jarvis were also in a tightly contested match at second doubles, where Juniata won 8-6 to preserve the doubles sweep.
Marshall was in progress and up a set, 6-3, at first singles when Juniata clinched the championship with wins at third and fourth singles.
The Rangers' seven wins in 2014-15 is the best mark since the 2011-2012 season and the second 7-win season in the last 10 years. Coached by Drew tennis alumnus,
Matthew Brisotti C'12, the women's tennis squad combined for 48 singles victories and 19 doubles wins this season, a massive turnaround from nine singles and four doubles wins just one season ago.
