Box Score

SELINSGROVE, Pa. (April 17, 2016) – The Drew University women's tennis team took Susquehanna University down to the very last match in a tight 5-4 Landmark Conference loss on the road Sunday.

Top Performers: Freshman Ty Ty Nguyen and junior Jessica Cheng teamed up for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles before both winning their singles matches in straight sets. Nguyen was victorious at second singles 6-3, 6-1 and Cheng won her No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-3.

Turning Point: Susquehanna (6-9, 2-4) took a 2-1 lead after doubles play by winning a pair of thrilling matches at second and third doubles. Both matches were decided 9-8 in the Crusaders' favor. Singles wins by Nguyen, Cheng and sophomore Kathryn Swenor (6-0, 6-4) got Drew back into the dual match, but the doubles deficit was too much to overcome as Susquehanna clinched the dual in the final singles match.

Other Highlights: Senior Katie Marshall went three sets with Susquehanna's No. 1. After dropping the first set, Marshall rebounded for a tiebreak win in the second. The Crusaders' top singles player outlasted Drew's 6-2 in the third set.
