MADISON, N.J. (Feb. 25, 2017) – The Drew University women's tennis team got off to a 2-1 start in its 2016-17 dual match schedule after an 8-1 victory over FDU-Florham in the Battle of Madison Avenue on Saturday at the Drew Tennis Complex.

The Rangers (2-1) swept doubles play and took 5-of-6 singles matches from the Devils, who fall to 1-3 on the season.

• Five Rangers scored both singles and doubles victories against FDU-Florham, including freshmen

• Drew went up 3-0 after doubles play with Camel and Witten teaming up for an 8-5 victory at first doubles and Cheng working with Navas Espinal for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Freshman
Christina Christodoulou and Riccio defeated their No. 3 doubles opponents in a hard-fought tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-3).
• Camel made quick work at No. 1 singles with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win over the Devils' top singles player. Witten (6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles) and Navas Espinal (6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles) were also dominant in their solo matches.
• Cheng and Riccio won at third and fourth singles, respectively, in straight sets.
