Megan Jarvis delivered a 6-4, 6-1 victory at sixth singles to push the Drew University women's tennis team past The Catholic University of America, 5-4, on Saturday.

After dropping the 2016-17 opener to Stevens on Sept. 23, the Rangers have now won nine dual matches in a row for their 9-1 record and 3-0 mark in the Landmark Conference. The Cardinals fall to 9-4 with their first lost in the Landmark (2-1) this season. Drew disrupted a six-match winning streak by Catholic.

The difference was made on the doubles courts, where Drew took a 2-1 lead. Freshman
Ashley Camel and sophomore
Ty Ty Witten won at the top spot 8-3 before the rookie pair of
Cristina Riccio and
Christina Christodoulou continued their hot streak. The freshman duo won their eighth straight match together, 8-6, at the third doubles position.

Needing three wins in singles play, freshman
Maria Navas Espinal got it started at No. 5 singles with a straight set win (6-1, 6-1), before Camel took care of her No. 1 singles opponent 7-5, 6-2, which featured a hard-fought first set.

Jarvis' clutch win at sixth singles was her sixth consecutive win in dual matches. She improves to 9-2 in singles play overall, with a 7-1 mark in dual matches and 3-0 grade in the Landmark.

It's a quick turnaround for the Rangers, who take the short trip north to Goucher College for a 1:00 p.m. dual match on Sunday, April 9 looking to remain undefeated in the league.
