MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's tennis team earned its first victory of the season in dramatic fashion, as junior Cristina Riccio posted a match-clinching win versus Arcadia University on Sunday at the Drew Tennis Complex. 

Drew edged the Knights 5-4 before losing by a 7-2 count versus Division I Rider University.

With the match versus Arcadia tied at 4-all, Riccio came through, eking out a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory. Juniors Ashley Camel (No. 1), Maria Navas Espinal (No. 2) and Christina Christodoulou (No. 5) also captured singles victories while Riccio and Christodoulou also registered a victory at No. 2 doubles.

Both of the Rangers' points versus Rider came from forfeits.

Drew returns to the courts on Friday, when it takes on UC-Irvine at 4 p.m. in another match-up with a Division I opponent.
