MADISON, N.J - Junior Ashley Camel won twice, but the Drew University women's tennis team fell to Landmark Conference rival Elizabethtown College 7-2 at the Drew Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers drop to 7-8 on the year with a 2-4 Landmark Conference mark, while the Blue Jays improve to 9-2 and 5-1 in conference play.
The Rangers' lone doubles point came from the No. 2 doubles tandem of Camel and freshman Marwa Elessaway, who gathered an 8-5 victory. The pair improved to 10-1 on the season, including 5-1 in conference play.
In singles action, Camel dominated at the No. 1 position, besting her opponent 6-0, 6-1. The win bumps her record to 12-6 and 5-1 versus conference opponents.
Elessaway battled to a third set, but fell short losing 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
The Rangers continue the season on Monday, when they face the Ramapo College at 4 p.m. and the College of Saint Elizabeth at 7 p.m.
