MADISON, N.J - The Drew University women's tennis team defeated Landmark Conference (LC) opponent Juniata College by a score of 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers (6-6, 1-2 LC), competing at home for the first time this spring, began the match with a doubles sweep. The pair of junior Maria Navas Espinal and Cristina Riccio pulled out a 8-7 victory at No. 1 doubles, and the tandem of freshman Marwa Elessaway and junior Ashley Camel won 8-0 at the No. 2 slot. To finish doubles play, junior Christina Christodoulou and freshman Kate Gangi won 8-5 at the No. 3 position.

In singles play, Camel, Navas Espinal and Riccio won their matches with ease at the No. 1-3 slots, respectively. At the No. 4 position, Elessaway was victorious 6-3, 6-0. Freshman Sofia Vargas Torres won at the No. 6 flight 6-2, 6-4.

The Rangers continue Landmark Conference play on Sunday, when they host Susquehanna University at 1 p.m.
