MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University women's swimming & diving team won 10 of 16 events and swept a double-dual meet from Montclair State University and Moravian University on Friday in F.M. Kirby Pool.
The Rangers defeated Montclair State 170.5-129.5 and Moravian, which was competing in its inaugural meet, 250-24. Drew, which defeated Montclair State for the first time since 2002, improved to 3-0 on the season.
Sophomore
Amira Hadri led the way for the Rangers with three individual victories, touching first in the 50-backstroke (27.77), 100-backstroke (1:00.97), and the 50-butterfly (27.80).Â
Senior
Mackenzie Garcia Hynds and freshman
Katerina Poulathas contributed two individual wins each. Garcia Hynds won both the 50-freestyle (25.31) and the 100-freestyle (54.93) while Poulathas, the reigning Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, prevailed in the 200-freestyle (1:57.51) and the 500-freestyle (5:17.53).Â
Also turning in one victory apiece were freshman
Harper Sensiba in the 1,000-freestyle (11:12.58) and junior
Katie Cashin in the 100-butterfly (1:00.61).
In addition, the Rangers captured the 200-medley relay, as Hadri, sophomore
Tori Newton, Poulathas, and Garcia Hynds won in 1:50.97.
The Rangers return to action on Nov. 5, when they visit Stevens at 6 p.m.
