HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Drew University women's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory at Landmark Conference (LC) foe Juniata College in its season opener on Saturday.
Freshman
Melina Christodoulou, juniorÂ
Marwa Elessawy, and sophomore
Danielle DelRosso were all double-winners for the Rangers.
Drew opened the match by winning two of three doubles contests. Sophomore
Sanne Bloemendaal and Christodoulou won 8-0 at No. 1 while Elessawy and DelRosso claimed an 8-3 victory at No. 2.
The two sides split the six singles matches. Christodoulou won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, Elessawy captured a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 3, and DelRosso was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 4.
The Rangers pick up their schedule next Saturday, when they host Goucher College at 1 p.m.
