MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Drew University women's swimming & diving team picked up eight event victories in a 160-136 loss at Montclair State University on Saturday.
The Rangers swept both relays while capturing six individual events. Sophomore
Harper Sensiba touched first in the 1,000-freestyle (11:28.44), as did senior
Mackenzie Garcia Hynds in the 200-freestyle (2:04.11), senior
Katie Cashin in the 200-butterfly (2:18.06), senior
Grace Aboussleman in the 100-freestyle (55.22), freshman
Ece Onatca in the 200-backstroke (2:13.72), and sophomore
Sam Trodick in the 200-breaststroke (2:34.68).
In the relays, junior
Amira Hadri, junior
Tori Newton, Cashin, and Aboussleman prevailed in 1:52.36. Aboussleman, Hadri, Cashin, and Garcia Hynds won the 400-freestyle in 3:45.81.
Trodick also placed second in both the 100-breaststroke (1:11.82) and the 200-IM (2:20.14). Other runner-up performances were posted by Onatca in the 100-backstroke (1:03.51), Aboussleman in the 50-freestyle (25.21), and Cashin in the 500-freestyle (5:37.84).
The Rangers are back in action Nov. 4-5, when they travel to the NYU Invitational.
