HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Drew University women's tennis team closed out its spring break trip with a 6-3 victory over Messiah University Friday morning.
The Rangers were scheduled to take on Berry College later in the afternoon, but the match was cancelled due to rain.
Junior
Danielle DelRosso was a double-winner for the Rangers, prevailing at both No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles.
DelRosso teamed with freshman
Courtney Bresler to give Drew its lone doubles point, as the Falcons took a 2-1 lead.
The Rangers bounced back in singles play, winning the top five spots of the lineup. Sophomore
Melina Christodoulou won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 while freshman
Mary Kalorin prevailed 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2. Junior
Sanne Bloemendaal picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 while sophomore
Taylor Dombalis captured a rallied for a tight three-set win (6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 10-8 victory at No. 4. DelRosso earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5.
Drew is back in action on Tuesday, when it hosts Endicott College at 10 a.m.
