MADISON, N.J. - Junior Sanne Bloemendaal earned a victory in singles, but the Drew University women's tennis team lost by a final of 8-1 to Stevens on Wednesday in the Simon Forum.

The Ducks (2-3) jumped to a 3-0 after sweeping the doubles competition. The Rangers forced a tiebreaker at No. 1, where sophomore Melina Christodoulou and freshman Mary Kalorin lost 8-7 (7-5).

Bloemendaal won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles while junior Danielle DelRosso nearly won at No. 5 singles, dropping a 6-2, 3-6, 13-11 nailbiter.

The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Elizabethtown College for their Landmark Conference opener starting at noon.
