LEXINGTON, Va. - The Drew University women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches, but Stevens Institute of Technology captured the first four singles contests to hand the Rangers a 5-2 setback in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday inside Washington and Lee University's Duchossois Tennis Center.
The Rangers, who entered the tournament on a 10-match winning streak, close out the season with a record of 12-9, marking the team's third-highest win total in program history.
Stevens (12-4) moves on to the second round, where it will face third-ranked Wesleyan (Conn.) University on Saturday.

Mary Kalorin rallied late for an 8-7 victory at No. 1, tying the match at 1-1. With the win, the pair improved to 12-7 while winning their 10th straight match to end the season. Freshman
Courtney Bresler and junior
Danielle DelRosso then prevailed in a tight one at No.3, winning 8-7 on a 12-10 tiebreaker. Bresler and DelRosso closed out the season on an 11-match winning streak while finishing 12-1.
In singles, Stevens won in straight sets at Nos. 1 and 4 to take a 3-2 lead. Kalorin (No. 2) and junior
Sanne Bloemendaal (No. 3) each forced a third set, but Stevens captured both, winning 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 6-0 at No. 2 and 0-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3.
The Rangers gained entry into the NCAA Championships by virtue of their Landmark Conference title, which they achieved with a 5-2 victory over Moravian University.Â
