Men’s Golf in Fourth Place after Opening Round of Landmark Preview

SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. – The Drew University men's golf team is in fourth place after the opening round of the Landmark Conference Fall Preview on Saturday at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
 
Battling extremely windy conditions, the Rangers shot a 313 and currently trail Scranton (304), Elizabethtown (305), and Moravian (309). Drew leads Goucher (315), Catholic (325), Juniata (329), and Susquehanna (331).
 
Sophomore Avery Cohen led the Rangers on Saturday, shooting a 5-over-par 77 to place him in a tie for seventh place in the field of 44. He birdied a pair of holes and eagled the par-5 sixth hole.
 
Sophomore Thomas Hurley shot a 78 and is tied for 12th while senior Mike Ford, junior Elliot Parker, and sophomore Eric Castner are tied for 17th with a 79. Ford posted three birdies on the day.
 
Elizabethtown's John Harrison leads the individual standings with a 72.
 
The second and final round will be held on Sunday.
