DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – Junior Elliot Parker turned in another stellar performance, placing fifth in a highly-competitive field of 105 golfers to lead the Rangers on the second and final day of the West Pines Collegiate, hosted by Oglethorpe University, on Tuesday in Georgia.

The Rangers shot their best round of the tournament on Tuesday and finished with a 54-hole total of 890 (303-295-292).

The top-two teams in the top-notch field competed in last season's NCAA Division III Championships. Oglethorpe (850) captured the team title after tying for third at last year's national championship while Lynchburg (855) placed second after taking 11th at NCAAs a year ago.

Competing in just the second three-round event of his collegiate career, Parker shot 1-under-par on Tuesday to end with a 3-under 210 (71-69-70). He finished just two strokes behind medalist Jackson Hiller of Oglethorpe and one stroke behind Watcharakan Chankarn of Greensboro, Evan Eichenlaub of Babson, and Sam Karman of Oglethorpe.

After firing 10 birdies over the opening two rounds, Parker fired four more on Tuesday, when he shot 35 on both the front- and back-9.  Through his first six rounds this season, the two-time Division III All-American and reigning Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week has averaged a 70.1.

Finishing second among the Rangers was sophomore Avery Cohen, who tied for 25th with a 221 (79-73-69) and birdied four holes in the final round.

Junior Ryan Ricci tied for 57th with a 230 (79-73-78) while senior Mike Ford completed the team scoring with a 239 (80-84-75), which included three birdies on Tuesday.

Senior Myles Cherry was also in action and tied for 90th with a 241 (74-80-87).

The Rangers continue their season on Thursday, when a "B" team travels to the Bear Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Limerick, Pa.
