GALLOWAY, N.J. – Senior
Toby Gaynor finished 38th out of 186 runners to lead the Drew University men's cross country team at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships on Saturday on the campus of Stockton University.
As a team, the Rangers finished 15th among 26 schools.
Gaynor was timed at 26 minutes, two seconds for the 8,000-meter course. He nearly captured All-Region honors once again, a title bestowed upon the top-35 finishers. Gaynor was an All-Region recipient in each of the past two seasons.
Drew's second finisher was sophomore
Thomas Edwards, who placed 84th in 27:37. Freshman
Matt Ellis was next across the finish line, taking 91st in 28:08, while junior
Gaetano Allegri placed 109th in 28:49. Junior
Dylan Crain rounded out the team scoring, finishing 128th in 29:46.
Also competing for the Rangers were freshman
Eliot Vishnevsky, who took 141st in 31:12, and sophomore
Aidan Rosser, who was 145th in 31:24.
Moravian University captured the team title while Peter Larochelle of Haverford won the men's race in 24:34.
