A strong mix of returning players and promising newcomers will lead the Drew University women's lacrosse team under fourth-year Head Coach

The Rangers bring back 12 returners and a pair of All-Landmark Conference performers from last year's squad that finished 8-8 while eight rookies will also look to make their mark.
Offensively, senior attacker
Lizzy Barrett returns after posting another big season a year ago, when she led the team in goals (50), assists (25), and points (75) while finishing fifth in the Landmark Conference in points (4.69 ppg) and sixth in both goals (3.13 gpg) and assists per game (1.56 apg). She was honored with a spot on the All-Landmark Conference Team for the second year in a row, capturing second-team status.
Senior
Emma DiPatri also returns to give the Rangers a formidable attacking duo after posting 33 points on 21 goals and 12 assists last season.
Classmate
Rachael West missed the majority of last season, but appeared in nine games two years ago, when she notched one goal and six assists. Sophomore
Emily Monaco also returns on attack after playing in 15 games a season ago, netting three goals and five assists.
Newcomers who will look to make an impact up front include sophomores
Simone Kelly and
Fiona Rooney and freshmen
Grace Patane and
Madi Strong.
Senior
Ella Champigny is back to lead the midfield after earning Second-Team All-Landmark Conference honors a year ago, when she finished third among the Rangers in goals (36), second in assists (19), and second in points (55). A strong all-around performer, she was also third on the team in ground balls (29), caused turnovers (15), and draw controls (31).
Senior
Mary Kate Davidson and sophomore
Aubrey Welch also return to the midfield. Davidson made a big impact all over the field in 2023 and contributed offensively with 17 goals and one assist. She also led the team in ground balls (49) while finishing second among the Rangers in caused turnovers (16) and fourth in draw controls (29). Welch also posted 17 goals and one assist while leading Drew in draw controls (63).
Providing additional experience in the middle are senior
Kayla Schaefer, who played in five games last season and 13 games in 2022, and sophomore
Emma Gallaro, who appeared in 15 games and scored three goals last year.
Several veteran performers also return on defense, including seniors
Catherine DiPatri and
Eniyah Garner and sophomore
Beth Dobrich. An All-Landmark Conference performer in 2022, DiPatri started every game last season and led the team in caused turnovers (21) while finishing second on the team in ground balls (41). Garner made 14 starts a year ago and posted 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers while Dobrich played in 11 games.
First-years
Brooke Carlisle,
Medinah Sarwari, and
Karissa Wadia will provide the Rangers will additional depth at the defensive end.
Between the pipes, Drew will turn to freshman
Paige Shaw.
The Rangers open their season on Saturday, when they visit Washington College in a non-conference match-up starting at 11:30 a.m. Drew plays its home opener on Feb. 21 against Rowan and its Landmark Conference opener on March 23 against Susquehanna.
