TOWSON, Md. – For the second time this season, senior
Melina Christodoulou of the Drew University women's indoor track & field team has been chosen as the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Christodoulou placed second overall and was the top collegiate finisher in the high jump at the East Stroudsburg University DeSchriver Invitational this past Sunday. Facing primarily Division II competition, she cleared 5-4 1/4, which moved her into the lead on the Landmark Conference performance list and 28th (tied) among the NCAA Division III leaders this season. She was also the top Division III finisher in the triple jump, placing fifth among 13 competitors with a mark of 34-3 1/2. In addition, she took 12th in a field of 23 in the long jump (14-10 1/4).
It was the second time this season that Christodoulou finished as the top collegiate high jumper, as she also won the event at the TCNJ Invitational back in December.
The Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they compete at the Big Apple Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
