AVCA Academic Award Winners
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Drew University women's volleyball team was honored for the second straight season for its performance in the classroom, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Academic Award sponsored by INTENT.
The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. The Rangers – one of over 1,400 college and high school programs to capture the AVCA Academic Award this season – finished with a 3.53 GPA during their third year as a varsity program in 2023-24.
The team also captured numerous additional academic awards throughout the year. Seven Rangers earned a spot on the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, including three who also landed College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition.
Last fall, the Rangers earned their first Landmark Conference postseason berth after finishing 5-4 in conference play.
