MENDHAM, N.J. – The Drew University men's golf "B" team won the FDU-Florham Invitational on Monday at the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club.
The Rangers shot a 309 to beat out FDU by 17 strokes for the team title.
Drew also fielded a "C" team, which shot a 333 to place fourth.
Juniors
Liam Larkin and
Ryan Ricci each shot a 4-over-par 76 to tie for first place, but Larkin was awarded medalist honors due to card comparison on the fourth hole.
The Rangers finished 1-2-3 on the day, as sophomore
Eric Castner took third with a 77. Rounding out the team score for the "B" team was sophomore
Avery Cohen, who tied for eighth with an 80.
Junior
Shiv Bhaskar also competed for the "B" team and placed 22nd with an 87.
Freshman
Brian Cotter led the "C" team, placing fourth with a 78. Sophomore
Thomas Hurley tied for eighth with an 80 while junior
Max Conklin tied for 19th with an 86. In addition, graduate student
Ryan Firman tied for 23rd with an 89.
Drew's "B" team hits the links on Thursday, when it competes in the Battle at Berkleigh, held at the Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, Pa.
