Led by a strong core of returning talent, the Drew University women's swimming team will take to the water with high hopes once again this season.
Under 11th-year Head Coach
Rich Munson, the Rangers return eight athletes from last season's squad that placed fourth at the Landmark Conference Championships.
Leading the way is sophomore
Kyra Gorman, last year's Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. She earned All-Landmark Conference honors in all seven of her events (three individual, four relay) by virtue of finishing in the top-three while taking home gold medals in both the 100- and 200-freestyle. She also captured the silver in the 50-freestyle, 200-free relay, and 200-medley relay while earning the bronze in the 400-freee relay and 400-medley relay.
Three other All-Landmark Conference performers are back from last season, including senior
Ece Onatca, who claimed the silver in both the 200-backstroke and 200-medley relay last season and secured a bronze in the 400-free relay. In addition, she placed sixth in both the 100-butterfly and 100-backstroke.
Sophomore
Ellis Murray is also back after taking home medals in four different relays, including the silver in both the 200-free and 200-medley and bronze in the 400-free and 400-medley. She also placed fifth in both the 100- and 200-backstroke.
Senior
Kaitlyn Zayle is also a returning all-conference recipient after taking the second in both the 200-free and 200-medley relays and swimming on the 400-free squad that was third. Individually, she placed seventh in the 100-freestyle, ninth in the 50-freestyle, and 10th in the 200-freestyle. She enters the season as a member of Drew's record-holding 200-freestyle relay team.
Senior
Sarah Weber returns as well after placing seventh in the 200-breaststroke, 10th in the 100-breaststroke, and 14th in the 100-butterfly last season. Junior
Natalie Koenn is also back after placing sixth in the 200-breaststroke, seventh in the 200-IM, and 11th in the 100-butterfly while sophomore
Morgan Wilson provides additional depth after taking 12th in the 200-breaststroke a year ago.
Senior
Chandler Straub and junior
Ana McDonald also return to help bolster the Rangers in the diving events while first-years
Molly Loughlin and
Adriana Scanga will also look to make their mark.
Drew opens its season on Saturday, when it hosts Landmark Conference foe Catholic University starting at 1 p.m.
