LANDOVER, Md. – Junior Emily Camlet and sophomore Sage Hendershot claimed one gold medal each to lead the Drew University women's track & field team at the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.

In the team standings, the Rangers finished in seventh place.

Camlet won her first conference title in record-breaking fashion. With a time of 57.87 seconds, she broke the Landmark Conference Championship meet record of 58.06 that Corinne Glass of Moravian had held since 2016. Camlet edged Abby Giamoni of Moravian by 0.19 seconds for the gold.

Camlet also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 25.98, which was faster than the previous meet record.

Hendershot also claimed her first Landmark Conference title, winning the long jump with a leap of 5.70 meters (18-8 1/2) – some nine inches farther than the silver medalist. Currently ranked 13th in Division III in the event, her jump was just one and one-quarter inch shy of her season-best mark.

Hendershot also came away with a silver medal, taking second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.75 seconds. However, she lowered her own school record in prelims, sprinting to a 7.72 clocking. In addition, she competed in the 200 and placed ninth with a time of 26.98.

Freshman April Kusnier and senior Mazzy Cirinelli also earned team points for the Rangers by virtue of their top-eight finishes. Kusnier placed sixth in the mile with a time of 5:29.60 while Cirinelli took eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.45 meters (4-9).

Sophomore Lauryn Brown added a ninth-place showing in a field of 23 in the long jump, soaring 4.98 meters (16-4 1/4).

Several Rangers will continue their seasons next Saturday at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet.
