TOWSON, Md. – Mike DeMayo has been selected as the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's lacrosse, it was announced on Wednesday.

The Landmark Conference selects 23 senior scholar-athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, athletic communications directors, and diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion designees.

DeMayo is the second Drew men's lacrosse player to earn the award and the first since Brad Mendelson C'10 in 2010.

A four-year starting attackman, DeMayo capped an impressive career with an outstanding senior campaign this past season. He earned a spot on the All-Landmark Conference Second Team after leading the Rangers in goals (46), assists (40), and points (86) while helping the team to its second straight appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship, the program's first consecutive appearance in a conference tournament since 2010. Drew also finished 6-3 in Landmark Conference play, good for third place in the conference standings, which earned the Rangers their first postseason home game since 2012. It also marked the most Landmark victories in team history and the highest conference victory total since the 2007 squad went 7-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Among the single-season leaders in team history, DeMayo cracked the top-10 in each major offensive category this year, finishing third in points, third in assists, and tied for 10th in goals. Among the Landmark Conference leaders, he was second in points per game (5.06), fifth in goals per game (2.71), and sixth in assists per game (2.35). DeMayo scored a career-high 10 points in the team's season opener versus Neumann with six goals and four assists, posted nine points on three goals and six assists in a Landmark Conference victory over Juniata, and netted eight points on four goals and four assists in a conference win over Moravian.

For his career, DeMayo piled up 260 points on 152 goals and 108 assists. He broke the school record for career assists in his next-to-last game while becoming just the second Ranger to exceed 100 assists. He also finished third all-time at Drew in both goals and points. He was honored as the Male Career Athlete of the Year at Drew's year-end Drespy Awards.

Away from the field, DeMayo was a Business major who has twice been named to both the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team and the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. A participant in "The Fund", Drew's student-run investment portfolio, he has also worked as a Business Development Executive for Legal Advocate Group LLC since 2023 and has worked as a Real Estate Agent for Compass Real Estate since 2022. In addition, he has served as a coach for Manalapan Lacrosse Club since 2019. DeMayo also started the Instagram account, "Holy Athletes."

DeMayo is Drew's fourth Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season, following David Hoyt C'24 (men's soccer), Katerina Poulathas C'25 (women's swimming & diving), and Mike Ford C'25 (men's golf). The Landmark Conference will continue announcing its spring scholar-athlete of the year winners throughout the rest of the week.
