CSC Academic All-District Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Team
MADISON, N.J. – Three members of the Drew University men's track & field team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Team.

Tommy Edwards, and sophomore
Zach Mogambi became the first men's track & field athletes in team history to earn CSC Academic All-District honors for the Rangers, who finished their second season as a varsity program in 2024-25. Additionally, Mogambi was chosen as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 16.
The 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Cross Country/Track & Field Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program in cross country/track & field, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. They must also be ranked in the top-50 in their region in a single individual track & field event per the TFRRS performance list rankings at the time of their nomination or finish in the top-50 at an NCAA regional cross country meet.
Crain, an Accounting major with a 3.59 GPA, finished the outdoor season ranked No. 43 in the Metro Region in the 10,000-meter run (35:27.50). He raced in both middle and long-distance events along with relays, running everything from the 800 through the 10,000. In addition, Crain was a member of the cross country team and ran a collegiate-best 8K time of 28:21.
A Mathematics major with a 3.82 GPA, Edwards made his mark in the middle and long-distance events as well this past season and finished the year with indoor regional rankings in both the 5,000-meter run (No. 44, 16:19.67) and the mile (No. 50, 4:32.06). He also finished with the team's fastest outdoor times in the 800 (2:02.73), 1500 (4:08.80), and the 5,000 (15:38.13). In addition, Edwards competed in cross country and was the team's second-fastest runner for the season, posting an 8K PR of 27:34.
A Computer Science and Cybersecurity double major with a 3.85 GPA, Mogambi turned in an outstanding season in the throws. He earned his first career all-region honor during the outdoor campaign after finishing the year ranked No. 1 in the Metro Region and No. 29 in all of Division III in the discus with a mark (50.26m/164'11") that was also a Landmark Conference record. He also finished the season with outdoor regional rankings in the shot put (No. 12, 14.23m/46'8.25") and the hammer (No. 30, 42.64m/139'11") and indoor regional rankings in the shot put (No. 12, 14.26m/46'9.5") and the weight throw (No. 14, 15.08m/49'5.75"). Mogambi won his first Landmark Conference title with his victory at the indoor championship in the weight throw, and he followed up by winning the gold in the discus at the outdoor conference meet.
