NEW ORLEANS – For the second year in a row, both the men's and women's track & field teams at Drew University have earned the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Team award.
Additionally, junior
Emily Camlet and sophomore
Zach Mogambi were honored at the individual level, earning a spot on the USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Team. To qualify, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher and have met either of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event.
Teams that achieve at least a 3.10 cumulative grade-point average qualify for the USTFCCCA Academic Team award. The Rangers, competing in their second season of varsity track & field this past year, posted a 3.5 GPA on the men's side while the women's team registered a 3.4 GPA.
An Italian Studies and Statistics double major with a 4.0 GPA, Camlet is coming off another outstanding season as a long sprint specialist for the Rangers. She earned her third and fourth career all-region honors this past year after finishing the indoor season ranked No. 1 in the Metro Region in the 400 meters while earning a No. 3 ranking the same event outdoors. She also won the Landmark Conference 400-meter title and broke the conference record for both indoors (56.59) and outdoors (55.61). Camlet also finished with indoor regional rankings in the 200-meter dash (No. 9, 25.98) and the 60-meter dash (No. 15, 7.95) and outdoor regional rankings in the 200-meter dash (No. 10, 25.36), the 800-meter run (No. 26, 2:21.56), and the 100-meter dash (No. 31, 12.81).

Sage Hendershot became the first national qualifiers in Drew track & field history when the two qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Camlet also competes for Drew's women's soccer team during the fall.
Mogambi, a Computer Science and Cybersecurity double major with a 3.85 GPA, turned in an outstanding season in the throws. He earned his first career all-region honor during the outdoor campaign after finishing the year ranked No. 1 in the Metro Region and No. 29 in all of Division III in the discus with a mark (50.26m/164'11") that was also a Landmark Conference record. He also finished the season with outdoor regional rankings in the shot put (No. 12, 14.23m/46'8.25") and the hammer (No. 30, 42.64m/139'11") and indoor regional rankings in the shot put (No. 12, 14.26m/46'9.5") and the weight throw (No. 14, 15.08m/49'5.75"). Mogambi won his first Landmark Conference title with his victory at the indoor championship in the weight throw, and he followed up by winning the gold in the discus at the outdoor conference meet.
