Day 1 Results
BALTIMORE – The Drew University men's swimming & diving team won both swimming events on the opening night of the Landmark Conference Championships on Thursday at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola University.
Through the first three scored events, the Rangers have scored 80 points and are in third place, trailing Catholic (121) and Scranton (106).
Drew opened the evening with a record-setting victory in the 200-medley relay, as senior
Brendan Burkett, senior
Gabe Spivak, senior
Nicholas Heinio-Widell, and sophomore
Thiago Silva clocked a winning time of 1:30.88, bettering the former championship meet record set by Drew in 2023.
The Rangers then closed the night with another gold, this time in the 800-freestyle relay. Freshman
Marcell Hudak, junior
Kyle Talerico, junior
Liam Gregory, and Heinio-WIdell were clocked at 6:53.58 – just over a second faster than runner-up Catholic.
Day Two of the four-day meet will be held on Friday, with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
