The Drew University baseball team will turn to a mix of returning talent and promising newcomers as it embarks on the 2026 season under fifth-year Head Coach
Brian Eberly.

The Rangers are coming off a season in which they finished 19-21, which tied for the ninth-most victories in team history. The squad posted another impressive offensive season and broke the school record for both runs scored (288) and stolen bases (77).

This year, the Blue and Green bring back 26 players from last year's squad, including 12 position players and 14 pitchers. In addition, 18 freshmen or transfers will provide the squad with depth while pushing for playing time at numerous positions.

The Rangers will carry a staff of 20 pitchers, including its top-two innings eaters in senior
Brandon Kobryn and junior
Tyler Bell.

Kobryn finished 5-2 while leading the team with 30 strikeouts over 43 2/3 innings and seven starts a year ago while Bell went 2-2 with 29 Ks over 38 2/3 frames and 13 appearances.

Three additional hurlers are back after tossing at least 10 innings last season in junior
Graham Ross (2-3, 25 strikeouts, 28 1/3 innings), junior
Aidan Bauer (1-0, 18 strikeouts, 24 innings), and sophomore
Nick Garbooshian (1-2, nine strikeouts, 21 innings). In addition, sophomore
Breckyn DeAngelis returns after finishing second on the team with three saves.

Kyle Johnson and
Chris Tobia; juniors
Tanner Blendinger,
Alex Feeney, and
Nate Sica; and sophomores
Brody Allyn,
Matthew Nicholson, and
Leo Rossotto.

Six freshmen will also bolster the staff in
Ryan Dewland,
Peyton Horning,
Nicholas Lo Vacco,
Mikey Sica,
Marco Sozio, and
Jayce Thoroughman.

Behind the plate, five Rangers will compete for playing time, including a pair of returners in sophomore
Redsy Klein and senior
Benjamin Cacoilo. Klein played in 21 games and made 17 starts last season while Cacoilo appeared in nine games and started five times. Freshmen
Jordan Delude and
Nick Donofrio and junior transfer
Tyler Giordano (Raritan Valley) will also seek time at the backstop.

Drew's infield will feature seven returning players, including three who started at least 10 games a year ago, and seven newcomers.

Sophomore
Anthony Vallaro returns after seeing the most time in the infield last year, when he started 36 games, primarily at third base. He batted .289 with a team-leading 14 doubles to go with 28 runs and 23 RBIs.

Junior
Jack Mocik and sophomore
Connor Stokoe are also back and provide the Rangers with a pair of versatile defensive performers. Mocik played in 21 games and made 16 starts at second or third base last season while Stokoe appeared in 23 games and made 10 starts, primarily at second base.

Also returning are junior
Zachary Chhabria, who played in 14 games at first base a year ago; Johnson, who played in 13 games and made four starts as a corner infielder; sophomore
Dylan Gallagher, who played in eight games and started once at third base; and Garbooshian, who received playing time at first base.

A pair of transfers – senior
Nick Bisaccia (Seton Hall) and junior
Griffin Shenman (Susquehanna) – will seek playing time in middle infield, where freshmen
Elijah Frix,
Matt Mackey, and
Dylan Wayne will also contend. Freshmen
Matteo Gruendig and
Trevor Kirkby will provide additional options as corner infielders.

In the outfield, the Rangers return a pair of starters in sophomores
Frank Master and
Zach Maxwell. Master, competing primarily in rightfield, made 39 starts and batted .316 while recording 27 runs, 21 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases. Maxwell made 35 starts – mostly in leftfield, and hit .316 while also posting 27 runs and 21 RBIs.

Aiden Mitchell (14 games, three starts), sophomore
Tommy Ford (eight games), and senior
Luke Tambasco (four games) also return as outfielders and are joined by sophomore transfer
Kevin Burgess (Central Connecticut) and freshman
Anthony Tetto.

The Rangers kick off their season on Friday, when they visit Kean University, ranked No. 4 by D3baseball.com and No. 5 by the ABCA, at 2:30 p.m. Drew will play four additional games in February before competing in six games during its spring break trip to Florida. The Rangers play their Landmark Conference-opening series March 14-15 at Catholic University and play their home opener on March 19 versus CCNY.
