MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore setter
Quinn Donahue has made history for the Drew University men's volleyball team, becoming the program's first-ever conference player of the week with his selection as the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) POW.
The Rangers competed as an independent during their first three years as a varsity program from 2022-24 before moving into the CVC in 2025. The team will compete in the Landmark Conference next season, when the conference sponsors men's volleyball for the first time.
Donahue averaged 7.77 assists per set over Drew's final three matches of the season this past week. He also contributed 13 kills, 18 digs, nine total blocks, and two aces, accounting for 20.0 points on the week. In his top performance, he posted 39 assists, eight digs, six kills, two aces, and two blocks in a 3-2 victory at Eastern Mennonite University. He also registered 35 assists, seven digs, six kills, and four blocks. In addition, he recorded 27 assists and three blocks in a loss at No. 7-ranked Southern Virginia in the team's CVC finale.
For the season, Donahue handed out 7.94 assists per set, and his 810 total assists were a team record. He also finished third on the team in both blocks (0.68 bps) and digs (1.28 dps) and was fourth among the Rangers in kills (1.46 kps). In addition, his .360 attack percentage is a team record and is currently fourth in the CVC.
Drew closed out the season with a record of 14-16 (2-5 CVC), tying the 2024 squad for the most victories in team history. The Rangers also recorded their first-ever win over a nationally-ranked opponent with a 3-1 CVC victory over Kean University on March 24.
