Six Rangers Earn Spot on CSC Men’s Academic All-District At-Large Team

CSC Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team

MADISON, N.J. – Six student-athletes at Drew University have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team.
 
Junior John Clinton (lacrosse), senior Joey Larmore (lacrosse), senior Eddie Matto (fencing), senior Elliot Parker (golf), sophomore Lupo Sala (fencing), and graduate student Joost van der Horst (lacrosse) were all selected for the Rangers.
 
In addition, Parker and Sala were chosen as a CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 8.
 
The 2026 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average. Fencers must have competed in a minimum of four competitions or have at least one top-eight finish at a conference championship meet, while golfers must have competed in 75 percent of the team's total varsity events that were team scoring events or have been in the lineup for their team's conference championship tournament. Lacrosse players must have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games.
 
Each school may nominate up to six student-athletes for the Men's and Women's Academic All-District® At-Large Teams.
 
A Physics and Spanish double major with a 3.91 GPA, Clinton started all 16 games for the Rangers as a defenseman this past season. He tied for fourth on the team in caused turnovers (11) and tied for fifth among the Rangers in ground balls (38) while adding one goal and one assist. He posted a season-high six ground balls at Immaculata, and he recorded a caused turnover in nine different games. In addition, he scored his first career goal in a victory over Emmanuel.
 
Larmore, an Accounting major with a 3.77 GPA, earned his CSC Academic All-District honors for the second year in a row. He played in all 16 games this past season, finishing with 12 points on eight goals and four assists. In one of his top performances, he scored three goals in a Landmark Conference win over Juniata, and he also registered one goal and two assists in a conference victory at Lycoming.
 
An English Literature major with a 3.85 GPA, Matto completed his final season with the Rangers this past season and finished with a regular-season record of 40-31 while competing in epee. He qualified for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Region Championships and placed 39th, and he also finished 6-6 at the MACFA Championships. In addition, he posted one of his top performances in a MACFA "A vs. B" group event, going 12-3 versus Hunter, Yeshiva, Army, and NJIT.
 
Parker, an Environmental Science major with a 3.61 GPA, is a CSC Academic All-America finalist for the third year in a row. He capped a tremendous career with an outstanding senior campaign, earning GCAA Division III All-America honors for the fourth year in a row with this third-team selection. He tied for seventh at the NCAA Division III Championships, finishing just six strokes behind the national champion in a 72-hole tournament while leading the Rangers to a 15th-place finish. He also won his second Landmark Conference title while leading Drew to its second straight team title. Parker averaged a team-leading and school-record 71.36 over 25 rounds for the season and finished the year ranked 29th in Division III in the final Clippd rankings while claiming medalist honors in five of his 11 events.
 
An undeclared major with a 3.95 GPA, Sala recorded an impressive season for the Rangers and was honored as a United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Second Team Division III All-American while also earning a spot on the USFCA Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region Division III Team. He compiled a 60-15 record in epee and earned All-MACFA honors with his eighth-place finish at the conference championship. He also reached the quarterfinals at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Region Championships and finished 17th, marking the top regional finish by a Ranger in three years. He also placed 10th at the Temple University Nikki Franke Classic and went 10-2 at the Brandeis Invitational.

 Van der Horst, a Finance major with a 3.91 GPA provided an outstanding performer in his lone season at The Forest. The attackman started all 16 games and led the Rangers with 46 points on a team-leading 32 goals and 14 assists. He poured in seven goals and one assist in the victory at Lycoming, and he also notched four goals and three assists in the win over Juniata. He also scored four goals in a Landmark Conference triumph over Wilkes and scored three goals in three other games.
