Drew (1-0) never trailed in the 40 minute contest and came out hitting their first four shots of the night. Sophomore and reigning Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year
Terrell Brown (Camden, N.J./Woodrow Wilson) sparked a 10-0 run to begin the game. He ended the run with an emphatic dunk over a Golden Knights defender. Berkeley's Justin Savage finally got Berkeley on board 2:13 into the game but the Rangers would respond with another eight straight points, capturing a 18-6 lead with a little over 13 minutes to play in the first.
Junior transfer,
Asmar Capers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) had a game-high 23 points in his first appearance in a Ranger uniform. He scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half and finished the game going 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. His last three pointer in the second half from way beyond the arc put the Rangers up 37 points, five points shy of the largest of the night.
The Rangers had five players in double figures including
Dylan Bulger (Staten Island, N.Y./Staten Island Academy) who had a career-high in points (13) and rebounds (8) assists (3). Brown and newcomer
Luke Glass (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) each finished with 12 points.
Drew has now won the past three games against Berkeley College under Daryl Keckler. The 110 points was three points shy of the school record set back in 1992.
