All-Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Team

David Musial earned his third consecutive Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year award, highlighting the All-Landmark Conference selections for the Drew University men's basketball team.
Musial also captured a spot on the All-Landmark Conference First Team while junior guard
Eli Yusavage earned second-team all-conference honors.
The All-Landmark Conference Teams are nominated and voted on by the conference's 10 head coaches.
Musial becomes the first player in Landmark Conference men's basketball history to garner the Defensive POY Award three times. He also earned his second consecutive All-Landmark Conference citation after capturing honorable mention status a year ago. He is coming off a tremendous all-around season in which led the Rangers in a number of statistical categories, including rebounding (8.3 rpg), steals (2.5 spg), and blocked shots (0.5 bpg). Among the conference leaders, he is currently second in both rebounding and steals, and he also ranks 28th in Division III in steals.
Musial also made a major impact for the Rangers at the offensive end and led the team with 3.1 assists per game, a mark that also ranks eighth in the Landmark Conference. He is also third in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1). In addition, he tied for third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.9 points per game.
Throughout the season, Musial posted six double-doubles and scored in double figures on 12 occasions. In his top performance of the season, he scored a career-high 30 points while also posting 14 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in a 107-93 victory at Lycoming. He took over the game late for the Rangers and netted 20 of his points in the final eight minutes while scoring 12 straight points for Drew at one point.
Musial posted three additional 20-point games for the Rangers, and he grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds in the team's home victory over Lycoming. He was a three-time selection to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II/III Weekly Honor Roll, and he was also chosen as the Landmark Conference Player of the Week after his performance at Lycoming.
For his career, Musial finished among Drew's all-time leaders in steals (third, 206), rebounds (fifth, 734), blocked shots (11th, 65), and assists (15th, 240) while also scoring 809 points. He played in all 105 games for the Rangers over his four-year career while starting 80 straight contests over the last three years.
Yusavage collected his first career All-Landmark Conference Award after establishing himself as the teams' top scoring threat this past season. Playing in and starting 23 games, he averaged a team-leading 16.9 points per game, which currently ranks ninth in the Landmark Conference. He finished second on the team in 3-pointers made with 59 and is second among the conference leaders in 3-point field-goal percentage (40.7%) and third in 3-pointers made per game (2.8). In addition, Yusavage finished the season second on the team in assists (2.4), and he is currently eighth in the Landamrk Conference in free-throw percentage (81.1%).
Yusavage reached double figures in scoring in all but two games this past season, highlighted by a career-high 30-point performance in the team's victory at Susquehanna in its regular-season finale. That showing earned him the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week award and a spot on the MBWA Weekly Honor Roll. He scored over 20 points in seven additional games, including a 27-point outburst in a 79-76 overtime victory at Scranton in which he also shot 6-for-10 from 3-point range. Yusavage also scored 23 points in a victory over Goucher and dropped 22 points versus Catholic in a game played at the Palestra. In addition, Yusavage distributed seven assists in the home win over Lycoming and grabbed eight rebounds in a victory at Goucher.
Musial and Yusavage helped lead the Rangers to another tremendous season once again this past season. The helped Drew to a 19-7 record and a 13-5 mark in conference play, good for a second-place finish in the Landmark Conference regular season standings and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. It was the third year in a row that the Rangers finished among the top-two in the conference.
